Purple Snowflake Marketing – How to Make Your Book Stand Out In A Crowd

When my book, Wooffer, was first published, I was over the moon with joy. It came as a perfect shock to me that it depended on my efforts for anyone else to know that it existed.
Like many new authors, I was in a quandary as to how this could be accomplished. I found very little help for the practical approach to my quest and scoured message boards for suggestions that could be incorporated into my own marketing plan.

What Dave and Lillian Brummet have done with Purple Snowflake Marketing is to save the new author years of trial and error. This book is a practical guide to marketing your published or soon to be published works. Armed with it’s many well researched tips and ideas you can finally get your work noticed by many.

Your questions about how to get reviews, what to do in internet marketing, making media kits and writing press releases will all be answered. This book is a Godsend to new authors.

I sincerely wish this book had been available when Wooffer was first released. Purple Snowflake Marketing – How To Make Your Book Stand Out In A Crowd, would have saved me many hours of uncertainty and floundering around trying to get my work noticed.

The journey from idea to publication is a long one for most writers. Who can blame them if they’re quite worn out by the time their book is finally in print?__The bad news is, it’s not over yet. If writing, editing, designing, and publishing the book is half of the journey, making sure it finds its way into the reviewer’s, bookseller's, and ulitmately the reader's hands, is the other half.
The good news? Purple Snowflake Marketing - How To Make Your Book Stand Out In A Crowd is one of the best guidebooks any writer could have on the journey of guiding their work to its final destination.Whether they are pursuing the conventional publishing route, using a Print on Demand service, or doing the whole self-publishing thing themselves, authors would do well to read and act on what they find within these pages. Dave and Lillian Brummet have done an exhaustive job of laying out all the marketing tools and vehicles writers have at their disposal, and their own experience shows through on every page.
They have a sound knowledge of how the market works and what it takes to reach the reader. Their advice is invaluable. The information you'll find here is exhaustive. The range of materials and resources in the appendices is truly mind-boggling.
I'd say to any writer who wants their book read: don't leave home without Purple Snowflake Marketing. It will get you where you need to go.

Purple Snowflake Marketing - How To Make Your Book Stand Out In A Crowd

Any author who thinks they’re finished when they type – 30 – on the final page will get a rude shock when they crack open Purple Snowflake Marketing - How To Make Your Book Stand Out In A Crowd by Dave and Lillian Brummet, published by Twilight Times.

The husband and wife team, who previously collaborated on a book of poetry (Towards Understanding) and another on recycling (Trash Talk), have dipped into their own extensive book marketing campaigns and come up with a detailed guide for authors who aren’t content to let their publishers do all the work.

Online, offline, in person, in taxi cabs, by mail, at events, anywhere and everywhere, their marketing reach tries to touch every potential reader. Indeed, Purple Snowflake Marketing - How To Make Your Book Stand Out In a Crowd, could easily add hundreds if not thousands of orders to any book published today by a writer.

That said; this is not an easy read. The book is laid out more as a crib sheet of marketing tips, techniques and suggestions, tightly linked to a very useful table of contents and a comprehensive list of on-line resources. The aspiring author will be doing plenty of perspiring if they follow all the suggestions, including some that brought a smile, remembering my own feeble efforts.

Take this section on what personal items you should bring with you to a book signing:
Water, snacks, napkin, cough drop, breath mint, pens, tape and markers, a seat cushion, lip balm, hand lotion and Kleenex. Travel tabs and ant-acid tabs, Tranquilizer (ha, ha), and pain medication are also recommended. Some of us can suffer from headaches or upset stomachs brought on by nerves or stress -others may suffer back pain from uncomfortable or prolonged sitting. You can easily put a little package of these items together by taking smaller portions and repackaging in smaller containers. For instance, you won’t likely need an entire bottle of pills. Instead, wrap a few tablets in plastic wrap. When you have done this with all your medications of choice, take the tiny plastic packages and store in a reused medicine or film container. Similarly, you can choose to purchase travel-sized options of lotions, etc. Place these together in a small bag or case and you will always be prepared for any event.
If all this makes marketing a book seem harder than writing it, that may be the most useful service this book fulfills. Most authors, me included, find it hard to change our focus from the project at hand to selling the project.

Any new author will learn much from this very current marketing guide; perhaps even more than they wanted to know. Highly recommended.
